Had a craving for some delicious Hawaiian food after an appointment this afternoon. I only heard about Shaka by word of mouth just a few months ago! I left McKinney and drove about 20 minutes to Shaka to try their food. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a warm Hawaiian greeting by the Owner and a lady cook too! 😄 The Owner was super nice and friendly and he explained a few of the meat dishes to me. I walked out with the whole Hawaiian Family meal for 4 which I ordered the BBQ Beef, Short Ribs, Grilled Chicken with Teriyaki sauce, Rice, and the Macaroni salad. I alao added the 6 piece Crispy Shrimp and 2 piece Musubi. WOW!!! Delicious!!! 😙👌🏻 The containers held a generous amount of each item too!!! 😋 I'll definitely be back and worth the drive! I have been coming here for years for good reason, long enough for the wonderful staff to remember my order by heart. The katsu chicken is some of the best you can get in the DFW, the katsu sauce is perfect, the Mac salad is not too sweet or savory, and the rice is just right. You get the best bang for your buck in terms of food portions, quality, and service. I’d recommend Shaka everyday if I could.

Stopped in for a casual dinner tonight on a whim while in the area. The restaurant is off the best path of Grandscape. The food was tasty and portions are huge. We will be back again.

Sweet mercy this place is my new favorite restaurant. I can't express how good the food is. We walked in and were greeted almost immediately which was so nice. We asked the attendant at the register (unfortunately didn't catch his name) what he recommended because it was our first time in. He recommended the lunch plates and told us the most popular are the Hawaiian BBQ Mix & the BBQ and Katsu Mix. He was extremely helpful throughout the process. My fiance and I ordered the Kalua Combo with chicken katsu get 2 proteins as opposed to 3 just in case it was too much food. Once we received our food it was game over from there. The Kalua pig and katsu looked so fresh like it was just barely made. I mean you can see it in the photo it's just 10/10 stunning. The rice was perfectly cooked and the pasta salad.. lord the pasta salad. I was looking on the menu to see if I could buy another side of it to take home. Not to mention it was such a clean and homey environment. It felt like you could come inside and enjoy a quality meal around good people. I love supporting businesses that you can tell have care and love behind them and that is 100% Shaka. I can't say enough good things about this r

Been awhile since visiting TX, and surprised to find a Hawaiian cuisine restaurant. No didn't go for poi, nor loco moco. Got the Chk/Beef and Shrimp/Fish combos plus spring rolls. Definitely filling meals, plenty of food and fresh cooked, tasty. The spring rolls were average. Took a bit of a wait for food to be prepared so be aware. Would highly recommend giving a try.
